Holiday in Val d'Isère,
with My home in Val d'Isère.
Did you know that Val d'Isère is known throughout the world as the "Mecca of skiing"? Maybe because its slopes are famous for being trodden by the greatest skiers... for example, one of them, Jean-Claude Killy, learned to ski in Val d'Isère, before winning all the prizes some years later! So follow in the footsteps of champions and opt for a holiday in Val d'Isère!
Open from the end of November to the end of April, the Val d'Isère ski area is linked to the Tignes area and offers more than 300 km of marked slopes, and no less than 1,900 vertical metres. 78 slopes for all levels as well as 2 snowparks make it one of the most popular destinations for skiers and snowboarders.
The area is divided into three sectors, each one offering something different: the Glacier du Pissaillas (a few miles away from the famous Col de l'Iseran) combines exposure and altitude allowing skiers to hit the slopes until the beginning of the summer, while the Solaise area offers breathtaking mountain panoramas to enjoy whilst sipping a glass of mulled wine on the terrace, gazing far into the distance. Lastly, in the area of the Bellevarde rock, you will find the most legendary slopes: the famous "Ok"(slope Oreiller-Killy), the Face de Bellevarde, the Solaise... Here are held the championships and competitions.
For beginners and families, note that it' s not because the ski area is a high place of competition that it doesn't offer options for the less experienced: Val d'Isère offers many slopes in the heart of the ski area, specially designed and adapted for beginners or for the less reckless, to learn to ski in complete security.
